Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju directed the officials of the Information Technology department to prepare comprehensive plans for further strengthening the digital services offered through Mee Seva centres.

The Chief Secretary gave the directions during a meeting with a delegation of the World Bank led by regional practice director for digital and AI Mahesh Uttamchandani here on Monday. The meeting discussed about modernisation of Mee Seva centres, creation of basic infrastructure for data centres in Bharat Future City, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Public Infrastructure and other issues forming part of the Digital India – Viksit Bharat 2047.

The World Bank team has appreciated the reforms initiated by the Telangana government in digital governance. They discussed about the possible cooperation between the State government in leveraging latest technologies, enhancement of public services, data governance and international best practices.

The World Bank team asserted that the digital governance policies adopted by Haryana and Telangana governments were conducive for investments in the sector and wanted the State to prepare a detailed project report involving ₹2,000 crore investments in the sector.

The Chief Secretary conducted special review on the functioning of the T-Fiber network and the infrastructure needed for the expansion of broadband connectivity and services to people. He directed the officials concerned to complete the works in T-Fiber network in a time-bound manner so that more services could be offered through it.

Officials should ensure effective coordination between different departments to overcome the problems faced in the implementation of the T-Fiber network. Works in this regard should be monitored on a regular basis so that they could be completed at the earliest.
