On Friday, June 26, UAA announced that its exclusive contract with the actress had recently expired and confirmed that both sides had decided to part ways on good terms.
"Our exclusive contract with Song Hye Kyo has come to an end," the agency said. "We have decided to conclude our journey together while sincerely wishing each other the best in our respective futures."
UAA Reflects on 14 Years of AssociationLooking back on their longstanding partnership, UAA expressed gratitude for the years it spent representing one of South Korea's most celebrated actresses.
"During her time with UAA, Song Hye Kyo received love not only in South Korea but from audiences around the world. The years we shared together will remain happy memories."
The agency also thanked fans for their continued support and encouraged them to stand by the actress as she begins the next phase of her career.
"We kindly ask fans to give Song Hye Kyo their warm interest and encouragement as she embarks on a new beginning," the agency said.
Song Hye Kyo Shares Heartfelt FarewellSong Hye Kyo also addressed the news through a message posted on social media, expressing appreciation for the agency that has represented her since 2012.
"I was truly happy and grateful for the time I spent with UAA," she wrote. "Every moment we shared will always remain a precious memory in my heart. I sincerely wish everyone at UAA all the best."
The actress became UAA's first signed artist when she joined the company in 2012. Over the course of their 14-year partnership, she starred in several acclaimed dramas, including 'Descendants of the Sun' and 'The Glory', further cementing her status as one of Korea's leading stars.
New Project on the Horizon?Although her next agency is yet to be announced, Song Hye Kyo remains busy with upcoming acting projects.
