No arrests announced after man fatally stabbed at Boston's South Station

Police are still searching for whoever is responsible for a deadly stabbing at Boston’s South Station during a busy Wednesday evening commute.
MBTA Transit Police initially responded to the report of a stabbing around 5:30 p.m., Boston police have said. A man was found suffering from a stab wound inside the station and was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
Investigators believe the victim and another person were involved in an altercation on an escalator that leads to an exit from the Red Line. Blood could be seen on an escalator that was blocked off by police tape at the MBTA station.
Commuters tell NBC10 Boston that they were shocked by what happened.
“It’s definitely alarming and not somewhere that I would want to be first hand,” one told us.
State Sen. Nick Collins believes this is an isolated incident, however, saying, “I just want to let everyone know that our transit system is safe.”
The Boston Police Department’s homicide unit is investigating. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call 617-343-4470. Anonymously tips can also be left by calling 1-800-494-8477 or by texting “TIP” to 27463.
