The newly refurbished Shop Kit Kemp at Ham Yard Village is now open. The shop has always been a place of colour, pattern and unexpected discoveries and its completely new design scheme brings a fresh sense of energy and imagination to the space. Every detail has been reimagined, creating an environment that feels less like a traditional shop and more like a collection of beautifully decorated rooms.

Colour and pattern take centre stage. Our Noah’s Ark wallpaper in plaster, designed for GP & J Baker, covers the walls, with the same fabric echoed in the upholstery of the Kit’s Wing Chair. At the heart of the room, our hand-appliquéd Carnation Moonflower Headboard creates a striking focal point, bringing texture and craftsmanship to the space. The handcrafted High Tide Lamp, topped with a Cloudline Clementine Lampshade, adds another sculptural detail, while the Ella End of Bed Stool, upholstered in Tudor Rose, introduces another layer of rich colour and pattern.

Furniture is given its own moment too, with pieces such as the Geneva Slipper Chair in Zephyr and our Bluebird Applique Clemmie Chair arranged around a table decorated with our table linen. Behind the table, a painted cupboard is filled with our tableware collections, including Tall Trees, Sailor’s Farewell, Mythical Creatures and Doodles, each bringing its own story to the shelves.

Part of the pleasure of visiting in person is discovering the smaller details. Fabrics invite a closer look and a touch, chairs can be tried for size and our RIKRAK bath & body range is there to sample, from hand lotion to other everyday essentials. There are plenty of pieces to linger over, discover and enjoy.

The shop also features a selection of pieces from Artist’s Corner, including ceramic vases by Valérie Gutton, crystal gemstone Totems by Celia Lindsell, hand-painted plates by Sasha Compton and a much loved dog painting by Holly Frean. Their distinctive colours, shapes and personalities sit naturally alongside the patterns throughout the new scheme.
