Tudor Rose is a fabric inspired by an archival found textile, bringing together painted birds, foliage and layers of colour. Designed with GP & J Baker, it reflects our love of traditional craftsmanship and the character that pattern can bring to an interior. The original fabric sparked the idea for Tudor Rose, with its nature-inspired imagery and painterly quality. The design recalls the work of journeymen decorators, who once created intricate scenes of nature for the walls of grand country houses. Here, birds sit amongst generous foliage, with their detailed tail feathers adding unexpected touches of colour.

Tudor Rose comes in four colourways: Clementine, Chocolate, Plaster and Blue & Green. Each gives the pattern a different feel. Blue & Green has a fresh, garden-like quality, while Clementine brings warmer tones and a little more depth. Plaster is softer and more understated, and Chocolate creates a rich, enveloping backdrop.

We have used Tudor Rose across a number of our interiors. At Ham Yard Hotel, the Blue & Green colourway covers a headboard, cushions and curtains in Room 322, where the pattern sits alongside other colours and textures.

In the Drawing Room at Charlotte Street Hotel, Tudor Rose in Clementine is used on the sofas and curtains, paired with Marigold Sunshine walling fabric from the same Kit Kemp x GP & J Baker collection. The two patterns work together to create a warm, layered interior.

At Refuel restaurant at The Soho Hotel, Tudor Rose in Chocolate is used across the walls, creating a rich and intimate setting. Diego in Charcoal by Andrew Martin covers the banquettes, adding another layer of pattern and depth to the space.

There is plenty to discover in Tudor Rose, from the painted birds and intricate foliage to the unexpected touches of colour. It is a fabric that takes inspiration from the past while working beautifully in the way we decorate today.
