It seems third time’s a charm for ISA Yachts.

The Italian shipyard, one of four helmed by Palumbo Superyachts, just added a third model to the Large Yacht Collection it unveiled earlier this year. With an overall length of 269 feet, a maximum beam of 42 feet, and an interior volume of approximately 2,250 GT, Essence is certainly worthy of joining the line of expansive, tailor-made yachts ranging between 262 and 295 feet.

Featuring exterior and interior design by Barcelona-based Igor Lobanov Studio and naval architecture by the in-house ISA team, the newcomer isn’t just big; it’s beautiful, too. The exterior is at once elegant and timeless, with balanced proportions, clean lines, and flowing curves.

“When designing Essence, we did not want to follow a trend,” Lobanov said in a statement. “Trends inevitably belong to a particular moment in time, and our objective was exactly the opposite: to create a yacht capable of remaining contemporary over the years.”

The layout incorporates features and amenities typically found on megayachts measuring 295 or even 328 feet, such as a touch-and-go helipad, a multi-level lift, and a garage capable of storing up to three tenders.

The living quarters are also akin to those of larger vessels, with a configuration designed to connect the interior and exterior decks and the surrounding environment. The beach club, for example, is fitted with two fold-down terraces that open to create more waterside real estate. Similarly, the glass-bottomed swimming pool on the main deck allows light to filter to all below.

In terms of accommodation, the yacht is outfitted with seven cabins for 12 guests plus cabins for 21 crew. The owner’s suite takes the traditional forward position on the upper deck, but has a somewhat unconventional design that sees a side passage leading to other areas rather than the typical central corridor. That ensures a constant visual connection to the sea, according to ISA.

Essence also bucks conventions on the bridge deck, with the aft section featuring a wellness area with a gym, sauna, and massage area rather than the normal lounge.

As for performance, the yacht is equipped with a full-displacement steel hull, a lightweight aluminum superstructure, two MTU engines rated at 2,240 kW each, and two pairs of stabilizer fins. It has a maximum speed of 17 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots, and a range of approximately 6,200 nautical miles at 12 knots, offering high levels of comfort underway and at anchor.

Essence follows the Amarcord 82 and Amarcord 86 revealed in July.
