I encourage everyone to vote early — in person — from Oct. 5-29 at their local municipal clerk’s office for November’s midterm election. People can contact their city or town for the exact voting dates and times. Skip the lines, convenient, secure.

I have been anxious that my vote might not be counted if I use a mail-in absentee ballot. There also have been suggestions that ICE could be sent to the polls. Just seeing masked men in combat fatigues with guns, tasers and shock gloves would be traumatizing to me.

If others, like me, tend to be anxious, they can vote early to ensure that their vote will be counted and to avoid any anxiety over what might happen at the polls.
