Universal’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie remained No. 1 on the Circana VideoScan chart, which tracks combined sales of all disc formats, and the dedicated sales chart for Blu-ray formats the week ended June 20.

The animated sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie finds Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach visiting new worlds and navigating chaotic obstacles with the help of new friends such as Yoshi in order to save Rosalina after she is kidnapped by Bowser Jr., who plans to use her power to fuel a doomsday weapon. The film earned $429.7 million at the domestic box office and was the first film of 2026 to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office.

HD formats accounted for 68% of Galaxy‘s first-week unit sales, with 27% from regular Blu-ray Disc and 41% from 4K Ultra HD disc. Accordingly, it was also No. 1 on the dedicated 4K Ultra HD disc sales chart.

A double-feature of both “Super Mario” animated movies was No. 9 on the overall disc sales chart, No. 11 on the Blu-ray chart and No. 22 on the 4K chart.

No. 2 on all three charts was another newcomer, Paramount’s Scream 7, distributed on disc by Alliance Home Entertainment. The seventh installment in the “Scream” horror franchise finds Ghostface returning with a vengeance. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a quiet life with her family, far from the horrors that once defined her. But when Sidney’s daughter (Isabel May) becomes his next target, her worst fears become reality. Forced to face the nightmare she thought was buried, Sidney launches a relentless fight to protect her family. The film earned $121.9 million at the domestic box office. Scream 7 was released in HD only as a Blu-ray/4K combo pack, which accounted for 65% of its first-week sales.

No. 3 on the overall sales chart was another new release, HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Complete First Season from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. An adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas, beginning with 1998’s The Hedge Knight, the series returns viewers to the world of Westeros a century before the events of “Game of Thrones,” depicting the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire, Egg. It was No. 4 on the Blu-ray Disc chart and No. 5 on the 4K chart.

The top seller the previous four weeks, 20th Century Studios’ Avatar: Fire and Ash, slipped to No. 4 overall in its fifth week. James Cameron sci-fi epic was No. 3 on the Blu-ray chart and No. 6 on the 4K chart.

Rounding out the overall top five was another newcomer, Disney-owned Searchlight Pictures’ horror comedy Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. The sequel finds Grace (Samara Weaving), still reeling from her brutal escape in the 2019 original movie, thrust into an even more unhinged bloodbath when she becomes prey once again — this time hunted alongside her estranged sister by four rival families, each ruthlessly vying for absolute power and control of the High Seat of the Council. The film earned $23 million at the domestic box office. With 59% of the film’s first-week sales coming from its Blu-ray edition (it wasn’t released on 4K), Ready or Not 2 was also NO. 5 on the Blu-ray Disc sales chart.

Among other newcomers in the top 20, Disney’s disc release of the filmed Hamilton stage play garnered the No. 8 overall spot. Available only on HD formats, the 4K edition garnered 44% of its total sales. It was No. 7 on the Blu-ray chart and No. 8 on the 4K chart.

No. 10 overall was AMC’s Dark Winds: Season 4, the latest disc release of the series about tribal police officers on the Navajo reservation in the 1970s.

Tying for No. 18 overall was Universal’s You, Me & Tuscany. The romance stars Halle Bailey was a woman who impersonates a man’s fiancée while crashing at his home in Italy, and then falls for his cousin (Regé-Jean Page). The film earned $18.7 million at the domestic box office. The Blu-ray edition accounted for 33% of its sales.
