The Motorola MA1 was the first wireless Android Auto adapter with Google’s stamp of approval and its had a sequel in the works for a while in the Motorola MA2, but the release date has been pushed way back to November of this year.

Motorola MA2 is a refresh of MA1, offering updated hardware and functionality but the same core premise – converting a wired Android Auto connection into a wireless one.

The device first leaked back in February before quietly launching at MWC 2026 in March. There was essentially no fanfare, but mention of a May 2026 release date. That’s obviously come and gone, but more details have arrived.

Through an official listing available only via a direct link that we spotted here at 9to5Google, Motorola Sound – the company licensing Motorola’s brand for this product – fully details everything new on this updated model. Motorola MA2 is “still the only one engineered by Google,” and leverages an “exclusive licensed bridge technology for a seamless, wired-like connection, with ongoing updates via the Android Auto app.” In other words, this isn’t a workaround, it’s an officially supported device.

The listing further explains that Motorola MA2 supports 5GHz Wi-Fi, a dedicated on/off switch, a removable USB cable, and the biggest update of the bunch, dual-phone pairing.

Unfortunately, though, it’s not coming out anytime soon.

Speaking to the folks at Android Authority, Motorola Sound confirmed a $39.95 price tag for MA2 in the US, but also a release date sometime around November 2026, with inventory available in time for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Disheartening to say the least, but it’s not like this is the only option out there. AAWireless TWO remains available for $60~ with the same core functionality, and TWO+ supports CarPlay too. The only difference here is really the fact that this is using an official bridge provided by Google.

It’s unlikely, but we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for any early availability on this one.

In the meantime, Motorola MA1 has gone almost entirely out of stock in recent weeks.
