Activities at the fan festival will be completely free and offer live streaming events on a jumbo screen, food and beverages, social gathering spaces, interactive games, prizes, retail pop-ups, meet-and-greets and more! Additional programming and event schedules will be announced by Canada Soccer in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.
Let’s Talk – CNV Update The City of North Vancouver is making it easier and more intuitive for people to take part in City decisions. As part of this work, we’ve updated our online engagement platform, Let’s Talk CNV. Let’s Talk CNV is where you can learn about past and current City projects, see how community input is helping shape decisions, and take part in engagement opportunities. The updated platform offers a more user-friendly and accessible experience, making it easier to find information and get involved. Creating an account allows you to track your participation, review past interactions, and follow projects to receive updates on the topics that matter to you.
New HJCRC and Silver Harbour Seniors’ Activity Centre The City is building a brand-new Silver Harbour Seniors’ Activity Centre as part of the Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre project, which in return aims to revitalize and enrich the surrounding area. View the latest renderings to see what the future space will look like. Two centres, seamlessly connected. A fully covered, accessible pathway lined with beautiful plants will make moving between community spaces easier than ever!
Planting for Pollinators Now that spring is here, consider making your garden pollinator-friendly! Pollinators like bees, butterflies and birds, are vital to our ecosystem as they help plants reproduce through pollination. Here are three helpful tips to attract pollinators to your garden:
National Volunteer Week: April 19 to 25 National Volunteer Week, running from April 19 – 25, celebrates the way in which people across Canada have ignited volunteerism throughout their communities. There are a number of ways that interested residents can get involved, including volunteering with the City Park Stewards! The City Park Stewards is a volunteer program aimed at improving the ecological health of our parks and natural areas. Throughout the year, volunteers can take part in important restoration activities like planting thousands of native plants and removing invasive species. All volunteers are welcome and no experience is required. The next volunteer opportunity is at the City’s Earth Day event on April 18. Register and learn more about the City Park Stewards at the link below.
Earth Month – Green Waste Reminders Earth month serves as a reminder to take care of your green waste! Green waste includes food scraps, coffee filters, tea bags, food-soiled paper, pizza boxes, leaves, flowers and grass clippings. Disposed correctly, green waste can be composted to become natural fertilizer for farming and gardens. Here are some tips to ensure your green waste can be collected properly:
