The front engine Corvette era ended with a bang, and nothing hit harder than the 2019 ZR1 — the one year-only, 755 horsepower monster that is the most powerful open top front-engine Corvette ever built. One of those rare convertibles, showing just 625 miles, has surfaced on Bring a Trailer, and already early bidders are already swooning.

“Wow, what an absolutely incredibly beauty of an automobile!” one commenter wrote, adding that the cameraman deserved credit for capturing its menace. Another chimed in with the kind of enthusiasm only a ZR1 can inspire: “Oh my, get your checkbooks filled up! What a beautiful car!!”

At the moment, bidding sits at $50,000, but with six days left, it’s almost certain to rocket far beyond that number — and likely past the original $144,790 MSRP for one of only 85 Black convertibles ever built, out of a total production run of 512.

This particular ZR1 is especially sinister – a triple black convertible equipped with the 3ZR Premium Equipment Group and the ZTK Track Performance Package. It rides on Magnetic Ride Control suspension and Carbon Flash 19- and 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. Carbon ceramic brakes with red Brembo calipers handle stopping duties, while the adjustable carbon fiber high wing delivers serious downforce.

Inside, the car is just as serious. Heated and ventilated Competition Sport seats trimmed in Jet Black leather and sueded microfiber set the tone, complemented by carbon fiber accents throughout the cabin. Tech features include front curb view cameras, a performance data recorder, navigation, dual zone climate control, and a Bose sound system. WeatherTech liners are included, a subtle hint that the owner cared about keeping the car pristine for future caretakers of this living legend.

The steering wheel — rimmed in carbon fiber and sueded microfiber — frames a 220-mph speedometer and digital cluster with boost, oil pressure, and temperature readouts. A head up display projects key information onto the windshield. The odometer shows 625 miles, roughly 550 added by the current owner since purchasing the car new in 2019.

Under the hood sits the heart of the beast: a supercharged 6.2-liter LT5 V8, factory rated at 755 horsepower and 715 lb ft of torque. With its 95mm throttle body, dry sump lubrication, and dual fuel delivery system, the LT5 remains one of the most advanced engines ever installed in a Corvette. Power flows through an eight-speed automatic and an electronic limited slip differential, backed by a factory rear differential cooler.

The car comes with its window sticker, build sheet, literature, two key fobs, a battery tender, and a clean Carfax. The only wrinkle is a lien that must be cleared before the title transfers — standard procedure for many modern car auctions.
