Dermot O'Leary was left shouting 'my wife is watching' as a This Morning expert weighed in on his 'compromising' dream about Rachel Stevens. 

On Friday (April 3), Dermot, 52, was joined by co-star Alison Hammond for the latest instalment of the show and dream expert Theresa Cheung, who was on hand to help de-code dreams submitted by viewers.

The segment was sparked by Dermot sharing a bizarre dream he had earlier in the week, that he was being extorted for money by pop star Rachel, 47. 

He told viewers: 'I had a dream last night that Rachel Stevens was extorting me for money. I was shocked. I had to pay her. I don't know what it was for.'

This Morning brought in Theresa to try and make sense of the dream for Dermot, who was left red in the face as she suggested it was 'compromising' for the star. 

As they announced her dream segment call-in later in the show, Theresa joked: 'I wanna hear about your dreams, what songs have appeared in your dreams?

'Have you found yourself in a compromising position with a in your dreams rather like Dermot.'

But Dermot was quick to fire back: 'NOT compromising. It’s not compromising. My wife’s watching. It is not compromising.' 

As the discussed the meaning behind the dream, Theresa said: 'I love it. You're casting yourself in your own nineties nostalgia pop video. 

'It's the drama between the untouchable Rachel, the sequinned pop princess, and you, and it's a drama - and it's saying you're feeling under pressure but you're rising to the occasion.

'I believe you said you were in a plane afterwards... It's putting the night light and the spot light on you. Why her? Of all the icons that it could have been, but you went back to that period of time. There's very much that nostalgia, that excitement.'

Dermot joked back: 'Rachel, if you're watching, I will pay up, but also thanks for being in my dream.'  

It comes after This Morning viewers were left 'switching off' and hit out at the ITV show as 'dreadful and insulting' as hosts Dermot and Alison paused the live broadcast to perform a dance routine on air. 

Dermot and Alison play music requests submitted by viewers at home following the ad breaks during their regular Friday slot on the show. 

And today (February 27) was no different, with Shirley Bassey's 1967 rendition of Hey Big Spender! ringing out in the studio as the show returned. 

Instead of moving swiftly on, Alison and Dermot began singing the lyrics to one another, in between announcing upcoming segments on the show. 

Soon, the duo were getting carried away, singing over one another during their announcements, as well as dancing and lip-synching to the tune. 

For two minutes, the stars continued to dance, with Alison joking of Dermot encouraging her to keep going: 'If you can't beat them, join them.' 

Taking things one step further, Dermot was then seen lifting Alison high up in the air - spinning her around in the studio as the song came to its end. 

The duo were met with claps and cheers from the crew in the studio, as they bowed for the cameras and laughed at one another. 

However, fans at home didn't see the funny side, and were soon taking to X, formerly Twitter, to hit back at the 'dreadful' scenes, saying they 'switched off'. 

One penned: 'WTF are these pair doing?? Shameful,' as another chimed in: 'Just switched off #ThisMorning. That's enough of that!'

'Dear god,' someone else reacted, as a fourth wrote: 'Just switched on to see these two ‘dancing’ and shouting. Children’s TV at its worst. Dreadful and verging on insulting. I’m off.' 

'Enough,' someone else simply penned, alongside an image of them turning off their TV in their home following the scenes.  

Others disagreed, and hit back that they found the moment amusing. 

Someone else wrote: 'Yes Dermot & Alison! Big Spenders! Love it!' as a second penned: 'Really enjoyed that, hope Dermot hasn't done his back in!'

It comes after Alison Hammond left her This Morning co-star Ben Shephard speechless and stifling his laughs as she cracked a VERY rude joke live on the show.

The TV presenters were seen sipping on popular drink 'bubble tea' before an ad break, as they were joined by Nick Ferrari and Nicola Thorp to discuss the latest headlines from around the world. 

Re-appearing after the ad break, Alison, 51, was seen joking with Ben about whether or not he liked the sweet beverage first popularised in Taiwan in the 1980s. 

Ben, 51, tried to explain he wasn't a fan of the tapioca pearls that are commonly found in the drink, explaining: 'I quite like the [explosive] stuff in my mouth.' 

Alison then responded: 'Oh, I love the feelings of balls exploding in the mouth.'

Shocked, Ben went completely silent, looking at Alison and around the room before she awkwardly continued by announcing what was coming next on the show. 

'Coming up over the next few hours,' Alison began, before Ben could be heard letting out a laugh, quickly covering it up by introducing the rest of the programme. 

Elsewhere, fans were left open-mouthed as Ben dashed to the PUB in the middle of the show's live broadcast, bringing back a pint for co-star Angela Scanlon. 

Ben and Angela, 42, were joined by Tom Swarbrick for the morning news segment on Wednesday where the group were seen discussing the weather.

Talking about the sunshine across London, Tom, 38, was seen dashing out of the studio while the show was on air to find the nearest pub to enjoy a drink in the warmer weather. 

Later joining the LBC radio show host via live video link later in the show, Tom was seen slowly sipping on a beer as he encouraged the rest of the This Morning family to come down and join him. 

Tom told his co-stars: 'For 40 days and nights, we've had continuous rainfall in Britain, and this is the first moment that I feel as a nation, we are so back.'

'I have this glorious bit of nectar here, the first one of the year,' Tom continued, as Ben gasped: 'Oh, that looks so good, the condensation on the outside!' 

'Down! Down! Down!' Angela could be heard shouting as Tom took a swig, before Ben added: 'Tom, I'm going to come out. Can you order me one?'

'Come down, you could do the show from here! The sun is out, we're having the best time of our lives!' Tom encouraged them. 

Ben wasted no time in leaving the studio, getting up from the sofa and leaving Angela to host the ITV show alone as he also headed to the pub. 

The scenes saw cameras follow Ben as he ran down a street in the nation's capital, finding Tom and drinking his own pint in the sunshine alongside him. 

Drinking outside the pub, Ben could be heard telling Angela and the studio: 'This is absolutely glorious! Happy rest of the year, everybody! Scanlon, I'll bring you one back.'

Following the ad break, Ben was back in the studio with his co-star, who has stepped in to replace Cat Deeley after she went missing from hosting duties.

Handing Angela the remainder of his drink, she was seen taking a swig while introducing the upcoming segments of the show.

'I want to look professional,' Angela joked as she handed Ben back the drink.

Fans were quick to react to the live TV moment, taking to X, formerly Twitter, to joke about the segment - which aired at 10:50am. 

One penned: 'Out on the lash while live on This Morning,' as another chimed in: 'Is this segment “how to be a piss head at 10.50am”.'

A third wrote: 'What a job, to be able to nip out for a beer live,' as a fourth added: 'Who has a pint at 11am?'
