The McCallie Blue Tornado soccer team capped off their 2026 season with a Division II-AA state championship beating Briarcrest 3-1 on Thursday night.  McCallie finished the season with a 14-1-3 record.  

The Blue Tornado opened the scoring in the 18th minute on a Finn Arnold goal. Alejandro Dominguez gave McCallie a 2-0 lead in the 21st minute on a goal assisted by Spencer Bradley.  

McCallie held the 2-0 lead into the second half before Briarcrest’s TJ White scored. 

It didn’t take long before McCallie extended that lead to two when Arnold scored his second goal assisted by Matthew Jelley. 

McCallie keeper Will Neely had four saves.  

DIVISION II CLASS A - GRACE CHRISTIAN 3 NOTRE DAME 1 The Notre Dame Fighting Irish went into the Division II Class A state championship soccer game with a 20-0-1 record. The Irish would score first but the lead did not last long as Grace Christian Academy of Knoxville would score three unanswered goals to earn a 3-1 win.

Owen Maddox put the Irish on the board with a goal in the 22nd minute assisted by Luke Rosellini.

Knox Grace answered with two first half goals and one in the second to earn the win.

Notre Dame keeper Giovanni Segura had three saves for the Irish.
