In a battle to the final finish, the Cleveland Aqua Tigers came away with a four-point victory to take an early-season Chattanooga Area Swim League White Division lead, Thursday evening in Red Bank.

"An incredible win tonight from our Aqua Tigers," Cleveland head coach Trey Parris proclaimed after the 405-401 tooth-and-nail tangle with the Gators. "Just awesome to see how much the kids have bought into the culture and the program and worked to get to this point.

Despite having two less (18-16) double-digit scorers, CAT was able to overcome the difference in near identical results as the Lady Tigers took the girls' competition 216-185 and the Tigers picked up the enough markers in the 216-189 boys' action to hold off the hosts.

The visitors got a pair of "Perfect 19s" as eight-year-old Caroline Kate Elrod and 10-year-old Kevin Curley finished first in all five of their events.

Elias Eldred (14) helped out with 17 markers, while Maddie Peterson (14) and Kaelynn Golden (10) collected 16 points each.

The CAT quartet of Palmer Blackmon (8), Teddy Elliott (14), Sophie Hughes (14) and Caleb Watson (10) put up 15 points each to the winning tally.

Cleveland claimed 7-of-12 age division brackets, including a 40-39 edge in the Boys 13-14 division.

The Aqua Tigers dominated early, winning the first three brackets.

Four-year-old Lilly Lackey and five-year-old Cassie Peterson dominant a pair of older Lady Gators, who scored just three points apiece, with 10 and six points, respectively.

Six-year-old Theo Lackey topped he youngest boys' action with 14 points, while Nicholas Frazier added half dozen for a 22-11 double up.

Caroline Kate Elrod's "perfection" and Palmer Blackmon's 15, plus Evie Peterson and Charlotte Lackey part of a three-way tie at seven points for third place, gave the 7-8 Lady Tigers dominate 48-20 thrashing.

Red Bank's first division win came at the Boys' 7-8 taking three of the top four spots, including 17 points apiece from RJ Popas and Tate Thomas. Logan Gregory led the visitors with nine markers.

The Aqua Tigers swept the 9-10 divisions, taking four of the top 5 spots in both, with the Lady Tigers posting a 47-27 blowout and the Tigers roaring to a 55-24 thumping.

Golden's 16 tied Red Bank's Addilyn Mayo for top honors in the girls tally, plus the Lady Tigers added a dozen by Savannah Rose, 10.5 from Stevie Rose McDaniel and 8.5 from Stella Clark.

Kevin's Curley's "Perfect 19" topped the boys total, followed by teammates Cale Watson's 15 and Boone Bibee with 11.

Red Bank got back in the overall race by claiming deceive victories in both the 11-12 divisions.

The Lady Gators prevailed 48.5-30.5 behind the strength of Aubrey Mayo's 19-point tally, plus a dozen from Jenna Thomas and Avalie Bilbrey's 10.5.

Lee Elliott and Reed Blackmon topped the Lady Tigers with 13 and eight points.

The Gators swept the top four spots with Luke Blake reaching "perfection" with 19, Austin Scott a "baker's dozen (13)," James Atchley 12 and Ethan McKinney nine.

Mathhis Jakob and Jay Eldred led the Tigers with eight and six markers.

Cleveland came back strong to take the 13-14 division with the Lady Tigers blasting the hosts 58-31 before the Tigers nipped the Gators 40-39.

Maddie Peterson and Sophie Hughes anchored the Lady Tiger dominance with their 16 and 15 points, respectively, plus Addie Taubert added nine, Millie Wiseman 8.5 and eight from Sophia Hildebrand.

Maggie Rust was the long double-digit scorer from the Lady Gators with 15 points to tie Hughes for second place. Charlie Cole added eight points.

The toughest fight of the night saw Elias Eldred and Teddy Elliott take the top two spots with their 17 and 15 points, respectively.

Red Bank captured the next four slots -- Benjamin Stansell (12), Jacob Rust (11), Dexter Miller (10) and Luke Bolwin (6).

Cleveland got a combined nine points from Asher Mergy, Grayson Rodriguez, Jacobs Ols and Henry Lugo to pull out the hard-fought win.

The Gators wouldn't go down without a fight, taking advantage of just one Lady Tiger (Carol Lynn Elloitt) in the Girls 15 & Over division for a 52.5-6.5 blowout, while the Red Bank boys took a 46-33 win the Boys 15 & Older with a 6-4 swimmer edge.

Lilah Blanchard topped the oldest Lady Tigers with a 19-point effort, while Adli Bowlin and Maddie Grass added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Red Bank's Noah Blake, a 15-year-old, also won all his races for a "Perfect 19" in the boys battles with Benton Bilbrey competition finishing second with 15 markers.

Santiago Eldred and Ban Condo put up a dozen and nine points for the Tigers, while Joseph Rodriguez and Silas Dunn chipped in with six markers each.
