We've had an understanding that the inevitable was getting closer. That curtain has come down on us now, the confirmation has been there. We've failed and come a little bit short today. I can't be critical of this team. This team have given us everything every single day. You can fault us in certain moments where we lacked a quality about us - and we haven't got enough points in this division. I think tonight's performance represents us a little bit of what we are. I'm immensely proud of this team. I may get ridiculed for saying that in the world we live in. I'm being honest, but that's the way it is.
These players have come in with a humongous challenge and we've fallen a little bit short. We needed to overachieve this year. Overachieve and overachieve, every single game. And we haven't managed to do that. Their eyes, their ears, they have given me everything. That means a lot. The young group will learn from these experiences. A lot of adversity and challenges this year. One thing I've learned in life is you need to have the ability to bounce back, be brave enough to stand in the arena, to stand on the touchline. This group constantly stands. I'm proud of them.
Like anything, you're on the treadmill. At this present moment in time, you're on it and engaged in it. And trying desperately to get results and the best version of yourself at this moment in time. We have to learn from our mistakes as a football club this year and move from there, really. Regarding myself, like always, we've given everything, sacrificed a lot of things, and we've fallen short. I hold the burden for that and the responsibility for that. We'll keep moving and keep going. It seems like a long time ago. Fundamentally, now, the most important thing is reflecting on this season. Everyone at the football club, work out the way forward and go from there. My main feeling is the game tonight, where we come away from it.

Gary Neville is right, Burnley are a yo-yo club.

Only Norwich City, who have been relegated six times, have ever dropped out of the Premier League more often than the Clarets.

It's the fifth time that Burnley have been relegated from the competition, which, well, is a hell of a lot of times.

Don't be surprised if they come straight back up, put it that way.

Manchester City love the month of April.

Whenever they enter this month in a title race, the Citizens just turn on the afterburners.

City have won 22 of their last 24 Premier League games in the month of April (D2), since a 2-1 defeat against Leeds United in April 2021.

They will end this month having picked up every point on offer.

The way we played? Or the goals we didn't score? The chances were there, we created a lot. Made a fantastic game. We did everything after a demanding game three days ago. So it was demanding. It wasn't easy. We missed some goals here.
No frustration. Why should I be frustrated? We are right now top of the table. Frustration doesn't exist. Of course, we can do better and score goals. The guys did absolutely everything, we just didn't score [more]. Nothing was taken for granted, we did really well.
We had a better performances in terms of chances, chances, chances than on Sunday. Of course, the opponent of Arsenal is extraordinary. We know that. The performance itself was really, really good. The title only usually goes one way when Manchester City take the lead during this time of the season.

The Citizens have never failed to go on and win the title, having led after 33 games or more.

They may only be ahead on goals scored, but hey, they are still ahead, even after being nine points behind at one stage last month.

Not the statistic Arsenal fans will have wanted to see.

Erling Haaland might have told the Manchester City fans to 'be happy', but try telling his boss that.

Pep Guardiola had a face like a slapped bottom at full-time.

The Spaniard was pretty animated all game, to be honest. He did not enjoy that performance from his players.

I imagine he is going to give them a slight rollicking in that dressing room, just to keep them in check. Why? Well, because those types of performances won't win City the title.

He should smile a little, though... it was still a win.

It's a win for Manchester City. But it's the best win Arsenal could have hoped for. One nil. It's all to play for. Arsenal have a home game against Newcastle on Saturday where they can reassert their three-point lead.
It didn't happen for Manchester City tonight. They will have to play better than that or they will drop points. But Pep Guardiola knows he had to come away with three points. And he's done that.

It's been coming for a long time now, let's be real.

Burnley put in a valiant display tonight, but defeat means that they will be back playing Championship football next season.

We've known this was going to happen for some time now, but it won't curb the pain felt by those players or the fans.

The big question now is: will Scott Parker still be their manager next season?

I find it hard to see how he keeps his job, personally.
