We've all been waiting eagerly to see if Princess Kate will make an appearance this year for the Wimbledon finals, so imagine our surprise when the royal made her debut at the event today, on day four of the Championships. Whether she couldn't resist the glorious weather or she had a particular desire to watch the match on No. 1 court between Britain’s Katie Swan and Madison Keys of the U.S, her appearance has delighted both watchers and Wimbledon goers.
Interestingly, the Princess of Wales also decided to forgo her usual midi or midaxi dress for the occasion, opting instead for a two-piece linen suit by designer Gabriela Hearst. If you wanted to shop the suit for yourself, you'd need to splash out nearly £2,000 for the blazer alone, so it's not an entirely affordable ensemble for most of us.
However, we are going to take inspiration from Kate when it comes to dressing for an event during the heatwaves. Her choice to wear head-to-toe linen is actually incredibly clever, despite it seeming like she might overheat more in long sleeves and trousers than in a dress.

Anna Richardson, broadcaster and women's health expert, explains: "Natural fabrics such as cotton and linen can help you stay cooler and more comfortable. Layering can also be useful, allowing you to adjust quickly if a hot flush (or overheating) strikes."
