Making a big splash in their Chattanooga Area Swim League White Division opener, the Cleveland Aqua Tigers had a pair of perfect scores among 23 double-digit tallies Monday evening at the beautiful the Fairyland Flash pool.

"Great showing from our Aqua Tigers last night at our first meet," proclaimed CAT head coach Trey Parris. "I loved the energy and the passion that we brought.

"We had a lot of our younger swimmers step up and swim some big races for their first time. Great way to start the season off, big meet this Thursday at Red Bank."

Along with a 227-115 thrashing by the CAT boys, the Aqua Tiger girls claimed a 203-152 margin for a 430-267 final tally.

The Aqua Tigers will stay on the road Thursday with a trek to the also unbeaten Red Bank Gators (1-0), which knocked off the Cumberland 486.5-298.5 last week.

CAT will hold its home opener on Monday, when the Cumberland Currents (0-1) come to town, while Fairyland entertains Red Bank.

Leading the way for the Aqua Tiger victory were Lee Elliott and Elias Eldred with "Perfect 19s" (winning all four of their individual races, plus being part of a winning relay foursome).

Helping out with 17 points apiece were Kevin Curley, Santiago Eldred, Caroline Kate Elrod and Teddy Elliott.

Reed Blackmon and Sophie Hughes collected 15 points each for the victors, while Logan Gragory, Maddie Peterson and Theo Lackey added 14 apiece.

The Aqua Tigers got a "baker's dozen (13)" from Boone Bibee, Camden Mathis Olivia Hughes, Coy Cantrell, Ben Condo and Palmer Blackmon.

Marian Christmann and Stevie Rose McDaniel put up 12 points apiece, with Carol Lynn Elliott posting 11.

Rounding out the double-digit scoring were Jay Eldred, Silas Dunn and Caleb Watson with 10 points each.

Fairyland had no perfect tallies and just nine swimmers to reach double digits.

Maxwell and Avery Ball topped the Flash with 17 points apiece, with Harrison Barnes on their heels at 16.

Abi Groothuis put up a dozen markers, with Caroline Cleary, Thompson Kent, Madeline Holstege, Caroline Thompson and Harper Teague helping out with 10 points each.
