There was celebration at Castle Hume Golf Club this week as Jason Keenan claimed his first-ever competition victory in the Lakeland Recovery sponsored event with a superb round of golf.

Playing off an 18 handicap, Keenan delivered a composed and highly impressive performance to secure a memorable maiden win.

His round featured seven pars and a birdie, highlighting both consistency and confidence across the course.

Maintaining his focus from start to finish, Keenan carded an outstanding 44 points, a score that comfortably secured top spot and marked a significant milestone in his golfing journey.

Runner-up position went to Sean Kealey, who continued his recent run of strong form with another excellent showing.

The 21-handicap golfer produced a steady round built around disciplined bogey golf, while also producing four excellent pars.

Kealey’s consistency throughout the round earned him an impressive total of 40 points, underlining his growing reputation as one of Castle Hume’s in-form players.

Completing the top three was Jack Kerr, who also enjoyed a memorable day on the course.

Playing off a 15 handicap, Kerr returned a strong score of 39 points.

His round included eight pars, an indicator of the quality and control he displayed throughout.

It was a performance full of confidence and precision and one that deserved its place among the leading scores.

The gross category proved highly competitive, with Andrew Mowat producing one of the standout rounds of the week.

Mowat delivered a superb display of shot-making, recording eight pars and an impressive five birdies on his way to a winning gross score of 34 points.

Notably, each of the top four individual prize winners achieved their impressive scores from the championship blue tees, adding further credit to their performances.

There was also success across the division categories.

James Turley claimed victory in Division One with 36 points, Gordon Armstrong topped Division Two on 38 points, while Gerry Reid won Division Three with 39 points.
